Chadzala is the name of the very first village in the Village Transformer Network
Chadzala is in Malawi’s Central Region, northwest of Lilongwe, Malawi’s capital city.
You can find Chadzala on Google Maps, but you’ll unfortunately have to search for ‘Cadzowa’ because, for some reason, it is incorrectly labelled.
Our very first visit to Chadzala
The 27 mile road journey from Lilongwe City Centre to Chadzala takes you along the S117 road, passing the villages of Makalani, Mbabzi and Nsaru and it can easily take up to an hour or more, if you leave the capital via the main M12 road.
David Miller visited Chadzala together with Malawi’s leading agricultural research executive Albert Changaya and we were honoured to also be accompanied by Monica Chang’anamuno, who is the local member of parliament and is also a minister in the Malawi government.
David Miller is one of the three founders of Transformac, whose non-profit foundation is supporting the crucial job of establishing the Village Transformer Network
